The best thing I've experience so far in Cambridge is the cooling weather.. without it, even with nice buildings and beautiful scenery, I won't be able to fully enjoy it.
I've been living in hot and humid country for the past 23 years. Been to super cold snowy country like Korea, which is a bit too extreme so can't really "enjoy".. The best cooling place I've travel so far before I come to UK would be Genting, haha.
Cambridge is not sibei cold like I've experience in Korea before, but it's very cooling and I really love it! I can't imagine I'll ever say this but I really love having Sun here, cos the Sun will balance out the temperature here.. (Without Sun can be too cold sometimes)
But at night it can be sibei cold especially with the killer wind.. makes me shiver like mad..
The most jia lad part is when it rains at night.. Night + Rain + Killer Wind =
FREEZING, Like this..
and you NEED to wrap yourself up despite looking like a ET.
This is me running into Grafton center to hide from the killer wind as well as to borrow some "heat".
Wearing Hubby windbreaker and warming my face and hands with my hot breath..
I really cold until just talk rubbish like !@#$%^&*(@#$%^&*()...
I still remember how Hubby laugh at me and concluded that I can only survive well in cool temperature..
Not too cold, not too hot, must be dry and cool.
YES I AGREE!
I really love sunny cool days~
Weather have started to turn colder these days, trees also turn redder..
Halloween is coming, I wonder how its going to be...
I've already seen so many nice gift set and nice xmas deco selling in stores now, its only Oct and people here already started to plan for Xmas already.
I'm brain storming on Hubby's gift from me..
Life is really simple here, and people are a lot more patient and nice.. no gan jiong people pushing me, no one tail gating me when i'm in queue, people are not so up-tight about small issues, man are generally much more gentleman here than in SG (sorry but its really the case.. =X)
Of cos nothing is perfect, the down side here is the food here is really boring..
Breakfast, is the SAME EVERYWHERE..
(Bacon, Sausage, Harsh brown, Egg, Mushroom, Bake Beans, Bread.)
Other than these, nothing else! Seriously, you can't find anything else for breakfast here.. any morning if you eat out, the breakfast is about the same. They call it the English Breakfast.
Lunch & Dinner, if its not Fast food, then it means TASTELESS..
The first few days I was like "WAH...the breakfast is freaking good!"
But after eating it continuously for a week, I stop thinking that it was that awesome anymore.. In SG there's definitely more choices of food for Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner etc.. we don't eat same thing over and over and over again..
I miss buying Porridge for breakfast, I miss having soupy noodle for breakfast, I miss having Chui Kuay, I miss having You Tiao, I miss having Economic Beehoon or Kuay Tiao, I miss OTAH, I miss Fish ball noodle, Chicken Rice, Carrot Cake, Prawn Noodle, Laksa, Hor fun, Stingray, Fish head curry, etc etc..
I really admire the British loyalty..
Its not a bad thing though, I've seen many many old couple holding hands here which is really sweet. I also see how people are more easy to handle and a lot more appreciative..
I start to bother about recycling and clearing your own table after eating...
Well I guess we simply can't ask for everything.. :)
Every time I walk pass old couple that are holding hands and talk gently to each other, I tell Hubby this is where I want us to be heading towards.. :)
